Journal of Arabic Language for Specialized Research is published quarterly by the Malaysian Institute of Science and Development , it is devoted to the publishing of researches concerning sciences and arts of Arabic language such as Grammar, rhetoric, metrics, prose and poetry, phonetics, modern linguistics, dialects, Arabic calligraphy, Arabization, and literary critical stylistic studies.
The journal is a research platform for scholars, teachers, and students to enrich the Arabic Library with further sound researches and precise studies for the purpose of unveiling the secrets of this language which is regarded as a miracle on its own through the Quranic text that remains a great challenge to all languages’ texts. However, the research efforts made on Arabic language and its relevant sciences as well as the unveiling of its beauty in the past and present are merely attempts to reveal the secret of its essence to persuade linguists and litterateurs of the reasons why Allah, the creator of all languages, has chosen Arabic to be the last language for his messenger Mohamed (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) and his miraculous immortal book till doomsday.
SAFEGUARDING THE ARABIC LANGUAGE IN THE DIGITAL SPACE IN LIGHT OF CONTEMPORARY STAKES AND CHALLENGES
Abstract
The discourse around the use of the Arabic language and its safeguarding in contemporary times in the midst of the digital explosion that the world is witnessing has become a topic of great importance, especially for those who believe in the significance of this language as one of the pillars on which their identity is based. Therefore, the purpose of this topic is to contribute to shedding light on the circumstances in which the Arabic language survives through the actions of its users and of its neglecters, aware or unaware of the consequences of their contribution in securing its perpetuity or causing its eventual evanescence.
In the virtual arena especially, which is nothing more than a reflection of a language's treatment in everyday life, one can draw useful conclusions through the degree of respect for a language’s ‘rules’, the protection of its characteristics, and the preservation of its special tone.
Hence, research is an approach to explaining the reality behind the use of the Arabic language in an ever-growing digital arena, through studies that are conducted to monitor and to observe Arabic content on the web, highlighting what can be learned in terms of securing the use of this language in order to maintain its spread and its continuity as a global language.
